The Orchid + Outlaw Way

As more and more of you decide to join me on this wild ride, I thought I’d take a second to introduce myself and explain why I felt called to open Orchid + Outlaw.

My name is Allie and I grew up on a farm in the middle of nowhere. I ran through corn fields until I got corn husk scratches on my arms more times than I can count, I showed steers at the local county fair, ate snap beans right out of the muddy garden, and perhaps most importantly, I gained a deep respect for the agriculture way of life.

I also grew up with a love for fashion and clothes. I was a barefoot blue jean baby until my mama said it was time to go to the city. Then I was dressed and ready to go, begging to stop at the mall. The county fair was my fashion week and I planned my outfits for months leading up to that infamous third week of July.

People thought I was crazy, calling me names and questioning my rural roots. And for a while I thought they were right. Being a fashionista and a farm girl is a tough mix and for a really long time, I didn’t know how to mix them.

Then I discovered social media and realized that I wasn’t alone in that strange mix of worlds. There was a whole section of fashion that was dedicated to the girls who grew up just like me. Orchid + Outlaw is my way of connecting two things that I’ve loved all my life: the agriculture way of life and clothes. In a way, that’s really what western fashion is.

I am so thankful that you are here with me for this journey. I appreciate all the love and support y’all have thrown my way so far. Thank you for supporting my dreams!

All my love,
Allie 🌾
